On January 3, 2018 evening, Sino-Canadian International Class 10-21 held the drama class performance in School Drama Room. To report this performance, students performed the drama “Grinch” in the form of a full English communication. This play is adapted from the film “How the Grinch stole Christmas”. Parents and teachers enjoyed the wonderful performance.
It took students a month to practice and prepare. Students took direct charge of the choice of the arrangement of the scenes and costumes. During the process of getting ready, students experienced the joy of exploration, hard-working, and harvest. During the performance, students showed their fluent English dialogue. The English level they showed was improved by the half term studying in Sino-Canadian program.
The performance was praised by the parents, Chinese and Canadian teachers. The performance also expressed the appetite for the drama learning from students.
The Feeling of Drama
Within only a blink of my eye half of semester is now over; which indicates the end of our drama. But what was over has not been disappeared in my mind and there is the feeling of drama inside me which I really would like to talk about in the following.
Drama means not just the seemingly active performance but a memory of exhilaration and endeavor; All of
The things we did in our drama; The professional vocabularies which we have memorized and deeply considered when performing; The various instances such as the employee confronts with his boss using different kinds of circumstances (the employee talks with his boss while the boss farts, the boss takes a cigarette while discussing feeling uncomfortable with his underwear while talking and so on ); and the sturdy steadfastness that I took on my lines of Grinch which proved hard to recite ,but when having a determined amount of time spent on it, appeared to be the rightest thing I ever did; The partnership each of us committed to play with is also an indispensable part of drama and gives all of us benefit of it.
There is a general acknowledgement that I want to thank all the people who gave me help (including our drama teacher who taught us with her dedication and my friends who gave me encouragement when I need it) Without them, I wouldn’t have the courage to stand on the stage to perform the show the best I can do. Our drama class is over but the performance of life is never going to have a cessation
